For more than 26 years, I have had the privilege of helping people navigate some of life’s hardest moments—and I still genuinely love what I do. Counseling is not just my career; it is my calling. I believe every person has a p urpose and unique gifts, and helping others heal, grow, and rediscover their strength is mine. I specialize in working with adults facing challenges related to addiction, PTSD, trauma, anxiety, depression, and or obsessive-compulsive behaviors. I also have extensive experience supporting military members and their families through unique stressors. At this time, I am focusing exclusively on individual adult counseling and am not currently providing couples or family therapy. I am independently licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in three states (KS, AZ, OK) and independently licensed as an Addiction Counselor in Kansas. My approach is compassionate, direct, and individualized. I have the ability to quickly “zone in” on what is happening beneath the surface, helping clients gain clarity, direction, and hope. Because no two people are alike, I tailor therapy using approaches such as Emotional Focused Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I deeply respect anyone willing to take the courageous step of asking for help and making meaningful change. If you are ready to heal, grow, and move forward, I am here to support you. Important Scheduling Information: A 24-hour cancellation notice is required whenever possible; in emergencies, please provide at least 2 hours' notice to avoid a no-show fee. I am currently accepting individual adult clients only. Please do not schedule appointments more than two weeks in advance, as evening availability is limited and this helps ensure fair access and reduce no-shows.
My goal is to help my clients reach their goals. I find joy and satisfaction when I see them achieve what they are searching for. I offer a safe environment, honesty, understanding, and respect. Please complete all forms that are sent to you before our meeting so that we have more time to discuss and process why you are seeking therapy.
What stands out most about my therapeutic approach is the combination of my professional experience, personal life experiences, and strong faith foundation. My faith in Jesus Christ guides the compassion, respect, and genuine care I bring into each session while allowing me to meet clients where they are without judgment. I believe healing and growth happen when clients feel truly heard, supported, and valued. Drawing from both clinical training and personal understanding of life’s challenges, I work to help clients identify strengths, develop practical coping tools, and build the confidence needed to overcome obstacles and create meaningful change in their lives.
My forte is working with trauma/abuse, obsessive compulsive behaviors, and addiction. As a Christian therapist, I feel I can best serve clients who are dealing with these types of issues.
Christian Counseling
I utilize a faith-based counseling approach that incorporates biblical principles to help clients address emotional struggles, relationship challenges, and personal growth. This approach allows clients to draw strength, hope, and guidance from their Christian faith while developing healthy coping skills and practical strategies for everyday life. I believe many clients benefit from integrating their spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process, especially when working through issues such as anxiety, trauma, addiction, grief, marital concerns, and life transitions. For more than 25 years, I have used this approach in counseling and have seen how effective it can be in helping clients build resilience, improve relationships, and find healing and purpose. My goal is to provide a supportive, respectful environment where clients can explore both emotional and spiritual growth while learning tools that help them navigate challenges in healthier and more meaningful ways.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I utilize CBT to help clients identify unhealthy thought patterns, develop healthier ways of thinking, and improve emotional and behavioral responses to life’s challenges. This approach is especially effective in addressing concerns related to addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and other emotional struggles. For more than 25 years, I have incorporated CBT into my counseling practice and have found it to be highly effective in helping clients build coping skills, increase self-awareness, improve decision-making, and create lasting positive change. My approach is practical, supportive, and individualized to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for clients who struggle with trauma, attachment wounds, or difficulty managing intense emotions. I use EFT to help clients identify and process core emotions that drive their distress, explore patterns from past relationships, and safely express feelings in session. This approach allows clients to build self-compassion, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others, ultimately fostering resilience, emotional security, and improved overall well-being. I have also used it with individuals who deal with PTSD, depression and anxiety. I have been using this type of therapy for approximately 20 plus years and find it to be very successful.
Eclectic
I have seen such a variety of different clients that I have used Eclectic therapy that involves combining multiple theoretical orientations and techniques to help each client resolve their issue. I have been successful using this in the past 25 years.
