Have you ever caught yourself thinking “I really just wish I could turn my brain off!” or “I know what I need to do to make a change- why can’t I get myself to do it!?”… Change is hard, confusing, and sometimes completely overwhelming- but you don't have to navigate this journey alone. Right now, you may feel hopeless, confused and/or just overall ‘stuck’- this ‘stuck’ feeling can hinder us from reaching our fullest potential in so many areas of our lives. Change is a process and my role is to guide you through it. Together we will explore what is working in your life and identify the areas that may be problematic for you. While building upon your existing strengths, I strive to help you to identify and adjust limiting patterns of behavior, gain insight, improve coping skills and recognize previously undiscovered potential. Genuine respect for your individual worth and guidance toward discovering your own resilience are an essential part of the therapeutic experience. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is a vessel for change, and that there is a tremendous sense of meaning and power in a person’s story being heard and change being witnessed. I'm ready when you are!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I work hard on behalf of every client. In turn, you work hard too; putting time and effort into your own self-help during and outside sessions. My philosophy of therapy is primarily strength-based and inspired by my desire to empower people to recognize their own existing resources, resilience, and positive qualities in an effort to overcome challenges. With utmost respect for your past, and present, we will create a more hopeful future.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use different approaches individualized to you and your goals for therapy. These approaches include, but are not limited to, client centered therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma informed care. We will work together to identify the areas which may be hindering your ability to live a healthy, happy and peaceful life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I strive to practice unconditional positive regard. I genuinely believe that we ALL come into this world ‘whole’ and remain ‘whole’ as we travel through our lives. However, I also believe that collectively (societally) and individually we ALL suffer trauma as the result of the basic human experience. Because of these experiences/trauma, we develop brilliant coping mechanisms to protect our most vulnerable parts. Many times, over time, these coping skills ultimately become a hindrance to our continued evolution and growth. I believe everyone has a story that deserves to be heard; we all need someone to confide in and to walk along side us. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and empowering environment to navigate this journey and find the tools to 'live your best life.'

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

The clients I often have the most success with identify as women (roughly ages 20-65) and often struggle with anxiety, depression, difficulty to change, relationship changes/conflicts, adjustment disorders/life changes, 'feeling stuck' / unfulfilled, and/or co-dependency.
