I am a licensed clinical mental health therapist in Florida and a licensed professional counselor in Wyoming specializing in areas of anxiety, relationships, trauma and trauma recovery, and areas of life transitions. I have worked within many different treatment areas and am glad you are here. The first step to entering into therapy can be difficult. You have conquered that. Welcome here to the beginning of meeting your goals. It can be difficult to open up to those around you about the areas you want to address. Therapy provides an outlet to explore your life while using skills such as positive thought, mindfulness, forgiveness, and so much more to become your best self. I believe that empowerment and dedication to what you want in this world can be achieved through the work we will complete together. I enjoy using your strengths to get to the root of any struggles, whether it be anxiety, stress, trauma, or even life transitions, we will work from the start to identify goals that will aid in the reasons that brought you to therapy. Life can become overwhelming at times. You have made the first step in being here. Therapy can be a new adventure to what you want to grow from or change, I am here to help you on this path. It can be scary to begin therapy, I understand, let's take time to get the "stuff" unpacked to travel lighter. You deserve to live a life you love out loud! Each session, my hope is for you to leave with less to carry. Every session will be a step toward your goals of growth, change, and learning. In working together I assign tasks/activities throughout our time apart to strengthen the skill use and self-exploration. Of course, these are not mandatory, just an additional bonus to learning more about yourself. I believe if you want a change, to heal, or even just someone to talk about this wonderful journey of life our sessions should fulfill your wants each meeting.
I utilize an eclectic approach that will meet your needs to complete the work and meet the goals we establish together as a team. I believe you are the expert of you and treatment in therapy will be a collaborative effort. I utilize person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, use of somatic therapy skills, as well as areas of psychoeducation We will approach the areas you want to address. I am skilled in trauma therapy as well as areas of sexual health and well-being. Understanding the physical responses to your experience's impact on mental health is a tool I utilize to address the whole person. Currently, I am only accepting telehealth sessions however believe strongly in an using your strengths, creativity, and eco-therapy approach through animal-assisted therapy.
My strength as a therapist is acceptance. I hope to use this to develop a comfortable area of safety and sharing. I have an extensive history in child welfare, the justice system, areas of trauma, as well as court-related issues. I utilize creativity in a safe space for you to be open and engaged in each session. I do work with all ages however specialize in children, adolescents, and young adults.
