Hi, I’m Amber — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, mom of three, and seasoned navigator of both the beautiful and complicated parts of being human. My life and work have been shaped by the ever-changing complexities of relationships, identity, healing, and growth. I work primarily with adults who are newly diagnosed with cancer, who are navigating the aftermath of a diagnosis, or who are closely impacted by another’s diagnosis. I support people with experiences of medical trauma who are looking to understand and work through what may not have been possible to confront until now.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Through my own experience of medical trauma as well as my professional background as a social worker, I understand the profound disorientation, grief, and exhaustion of a cancer diagnosis, as well as the vital self advocacy it requires. I am here to witness, support, and help you integrate that journey. I know firsthand that it’s often the recovery from difficult diagnoses that is the biggest challenge; the process of returning to everyday life having been profoundly changed. There is so much to be accessed through beginning to unpack your cancer journey. Together we will create a space within, where you build insight, strengthen resilience, develop solutions, and integrate sustainable change that fits your life. Therapeutic work can bring experiences of delight, despair, anger, relief, clarity – and all of it will be your life’s most sacred work yet. Whether you’re new to therapy or well-practiced and clear about what you’re seeking, if any of the above resonates I would love to connect.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I offer 1-on-1 Telehealth across Texas and in-person therapy in Austin (Northwest Hills) for adults 18+. With more than ten years of experience providing clinical mental health services, I bring lived perspective and deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support. Areas of experience: Parts Work Attachment Theory Trauma-informed care Strengths-based Social justice framework Together we’ll look beyond symptoms and toward the larger patterns that influence emotional health, behavior, and relationships.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

This practice is designed for people navigating a cancer diagnosis who are seeking a safe, compassionate space to process not only the challenges of treatment but also the emotional impact this life-changing experience has on identity, relationships, and overall well-being. Whether newly diagnosed, undergoing treatment, living with metastatic disease, or adjusting to life after treatment, these clients often want practical strategies to manage anxiety, uncertainty, and the day-to-day demands of cancer while recognizing that the experience has also stirred something deeper. Many begin to notice old fears resurfacing, familiar relationship patterns emerging, or unresolved experiences from the past influencing how they respond to the present. Questions about identity, self-worth, vulnerability, boundaries, and meaning often become more prominent. Cancer becomes more than a medical diagnosis—it becomes a turning point that invites reflection on past experiences, current relationships, and the future.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

This approach emphasizes the influence of the unconscious mind, internal conflicts, and early childhood experiences on personality and behavior. Together we will bring the unconscious to light, explore how these parts are showing up in real time and determine how these patterns can help or hinder you.
