Sendy Bossou
Hello and welcome! I'm a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Renu Mind Psychiatry serving adolescents through older adults. I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and stress-related challenges, using a collaborative and practical approach.
My approach is structured yet flexible, allowing me to effectively support individuals with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and life stressors.
I combine medication management with brief, evidence-based psychotherapy and treat you as a whole person, not just your symptoms. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space while helping you improve focus, mood, and build lasting tools for healthier daily functioning and relationships.
First session
In your first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you as a whole person. I’ll ask about your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, lifestyle, and goals for treatment. This is also your time to share what’s been working, what hasn’t, and what you’re hoping to improve. We’ll discuss how your symptoms may be affecting your daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. If appropriate, we’ll review or explore treatment options, including therapy approaches and medication. I’ll make sure to answer your questions and involve you in creating a plan that feels comfortable and realistic for you. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer understanding of the next steps in your care.
Strengths
My greatest strengths lie in providing a balanced, whole-person approach that integrates medication management with brief, evidence-based psychotherapy. I focus on understanding not just symptoms, but how emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal patterns impact overall well-being. I am known for being collaborative, practical, and solution-focused. I work closely with clients to create individualized treatment plans and provide clear, actionable strategies they can apply in their daily lives. I also prioritize creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard while being gently challenged to make meaningful progress. My approach is structured yet flexible, allowing me to effectively support individuals with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and life stressors. I aim to help clients achieve measurable improvements in mood, focus, coping skills, and overall functioning.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and stress-related conditions, particularly high-functioning adults who may appear well externally but struggle with inattention, overwhelm, worry, burnout, or low motivation. I also work with clients navigating life transitions, including relationship challenges, career changes, and shifting roles. My ideal clients are open to self-reflection and motivated to understand how their thoughts, emotions, attention patterns, and interpersonal dynamics affect their well-being. They may feel stuck in cycles of distraction, procrastination, or emotional distress and are seeking both practical tools and deeper insight. I work best with individuals who value a collaborative, structured approach and are ready to engage in the therapeutic process. As a psychiatric provider, I combine medication management with brief psychotherapy, using approaches such as interpersonal therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and supportive therapy. My goal is to help clients improve focus, reduce symptoms, strengthen coping skills, and build healthier patterns in their daily lives and relationships.
Treatment methods
Interpersonal
I have experience using interpersonal therapy (IPT) as an evidence-based approach to treat mood and anxiety disorders. In my practice, I focus on linking symptoms to current relationship stressors, such as role transitions and interpersonal conflicts. I use techniques like communication analysis, role clarification, and problem-solving to help patients improve interpersonal functioning and reduce symptoms. I incorporate IPT into brief follow-up visits, tailoring interventions to each patient’s needs and clinical presentation.
