Outside of being a counselor I am a dad of one teen son, a Maine guide, and Brazilian Jiu jitsu black belt. I am also a founding member of a veterans outdoor non-profit that supports healing from the mental and physical pains of war. My own journey to becoming a counselor started with a personal loss that allowed me to experience the benefits of therapy. This has informed my approach as a counselor.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I believe that trust and respect are core tenets of a positive therapeutic relationship. After our first session you can expect to feel heard, validated and hopeful that our work together will help you grow where you feel stuck.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Prior to becoming a therapist my life experience has offered valuable opportunities to develop patience, resilience, and belief in the strength of the human spirit. I believe that we all deserve contentment and to thrive in our potential.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Clients that have experienced grief and loss, depression, anxiety , and trauma and feel ready to grow from these experiences have potential to experience fantastic results. Often clients have lost hope of things getting better. My goal is to hold that hope temporarily with the knowledge that you have that vast potential to live a life that you will find rewarding and fulfilling, no matter what challenges life has sent in your direction.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is used to start gaining momentum when waiting to feel better hasn't worked. By utilizing ACT we embrace action based symptom improvement.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is utilize to challenge and reframe unhelpful thinking patterns. CBT says that our thoughts create emotions, so when we can address the thoughts that are hurting us we can move them into thoughts that grow and strengthen us.
