Cristyn Jones
Hi, I'm Cristyn. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Therapist. I enjoy helping people feel heard and understood as they take the first steps in their mental health journey. My practice style is person-centered, trauma-focused, and somatic, grounded in the belief that healing occurs when clients feel safe, heard, and empowered. I work collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences, identify strengths, and build on existing resilience. Using a trauma-informed lens, I help clients understand how past experiences may affect their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. I also incorporate somatic techniques to increase awareness of the mind-body connection, supporting clients in recognizing and responding to physical sensations associated with stress, trauma, and emotional experiences. Drawing from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), I help clients develop practical coping skills, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and foster meaningful change while moving at a pace that feels comfortable and supportive. I understand that reaching out for help can be difficult, and I am committed to making this process as comfortable and collaborative as possible.
First session
My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can talk openly about what's bringing you in and what you'd like to achieve. Together, we'll explore your needs and find the best path forward. Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. We will spend time discussing what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, personal strengths, and the goals you hope to achieve. By the end of our time together, we will review your goals, discuss recommendations for treatment, and identify next steps that best support your journey toward healing and growth. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, respected, and hopeful about the therapeutic process.
Strengths
I have a quiet, observant, and reflective therapeutic style. I value creating a calm and supportive space where clients can feel comfortable sharing their experiences at their own pace. Through deep listening, thoughtful inquiry, and a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, I help clients build insight, develop coping skills, and move toward meaningful healing and growth.
Ideal clients
Wants practical coping skills rather than just talking about problems. Has insight into how past experiences affect current functioning or is willing to develop that insight. Benefits from a structured, evidence-based approach while still needing warmth, validation, and safety. Is interested in healing and symptom reduction. Is open to exploring both thoughts and feelings and body sensations and is motivated for change.
