Shannon Scott
I’m a licensed clinical social worker who believes therapy should feel supportive, genuine, and practical. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. My approach is collaborative and judgment-free. Together, we’ll understand what’s getting in your way, build healthier patterns, and create changes that feel realistic for your life.
First session
Our first session is about getting to know you beyond a diagnosis. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been difficult, what is already working, and what you would like to change. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, comfortable, and clear about what we can work toward together—without pressure to share more than you’re ready for.
Strengths
I’m warm, direct, and down-to-earth. I’ll give you space when you need it, but I’ll also respectfully challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I balance compassion with accountability and practical strategies, so sessions feel supportive while still helping you make meaningful progress.
Ideal clients
My ideal client may be navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, stress, or a major life transition. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for something to change. You don’t need to have everything figured out. I work best with clients who want a supportive space to be themselves while also learning practical tools, developing greater self-awareness, and creating healthier patterns.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, or feeling stuck. We’ll work on challenging unhelpful thoughts, developing healthier responses, and practicing practical strategies you can use in everyday situations. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your individual goals.
