(she/her)
am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Missouri. I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Missouri - Kansas City in 2009. In 2013, I received my M.A. in Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. I have worked in the mental health field for over 14 years and have been a licensed professional counselor for 11 of those years. I am a wife and mother who is passionate about enriching the lives of people who struggle with showing up for themselves daily especially as it pertains to self-care and mental health.
Our first session my only goal is for you to feel: listened to, heard, and understood. We can jump right in and get to work or we can take things at the pace tha works for you.
My greatest strengths is that I am personable and warm, but also have the objective expertise you need in a professional counselor.
My idea client is anyone who may be ready or know that they are in a space where something has to change. If you are not sure, but have come across this page and been considering therapy we can figure it out togther. Try one session, one convo wont hurt.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I use IFS method because I love the non psychodiagnostic approach it takes. Also I really like how peole can feel free to be fully themselves and even the parts of themselvrs that they may not like or enjoy or try to stuff down they can still appreciate that part of themselves. I use this method in my practicr by having people identify a part of themselves the best they can ie ( how it may feel think , what it needs ect. Most of the time this allows for the person to take more of a self leadership role where they feel more in control, but also more accepting of all of who they are.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
this is one of the most wide spread method of treatment because the results are so measurable. I often have clients take deep breathes and focus on their thoughs, feelings snd emotions snd how that effects their actions.

I had my first therapy appointment with Latoya today, and I was honestly pretty nervous going in. But from the moment we started talking, she made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. Latoya was easy to talk to, kind, and really listened without making me feel judged or rushed. It didn’t feel clinical or cold—it felt like a safe space where I could just be honest. I’m really glad I took this step, and I’m thankful to have found someone who made that experience a positive one. Thank you.
