Hi, I’m Mercedes Harrison, and I believe therapy should be more than just talking about what’s going on—it should help you understand yourself, recognize patterns, and feel more equipped to move forward. Do you ever leave therapy feeling like you talked a lot, but still aren’t fully sure what you’re working on or how to actually move forward? Many people know they’re struggling but have a hard time putting words to their emotions, recognizing patterns, or understanding why they keep getting stuck in the same cycles. In my work with clients, I believe therapy can feel more meaningful when you’re able to actually see, organize, and make sense of what you’re experiencing. My goal is for you to leave each session with tangible tools, practical insight, and personalized resources that you can continue using and reflecting on outside of therapy. I want therapy to be a space where you not only feel heard, but also gain clarity, understanding, and tools that support you in creating meaningful change.
In your first session, you can expect a welcoming, structured, and collaborative experience. We’ll begin by getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying the concerns or patterns you would like to work on. Together, we’ll begin clarifying your goals and what you hope to get from therapy. Because I believe therapy should be practical and meaningful, I’ll also begin introducing ways to organize and understand what you’re experiencing. Depending on your needs, this may include visuals, questions, worksheets, or other tools to help you gain clarity and identify patterns. You won’t be expected to have everything figured out during the first session. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of where we can begin. You may also leave with a practical resource, reflection activity, or small step to work on between sessions.
I bring a structured, personalized, and practical approach to therapy. I believe clients should leave sessions with more than a good conversation—they should leave with greater clarity, practical insight, and tools they can use in everyday life. One of my strengths is helping clients slow down and organize overwhelming thoughts and emotions. I use visuals, diagrams, worksheets, and practical resources to help clients recognize patterns, untangle thoughts, and better understand what may be keeping them stuck. My approach is collaborative and goal-focused, with each session tailored to the client’s individual needs, strengths, goals, and learning style. I believe meaningful change happens both inside and outside of therapy, so reflection, homework, and between-session practice can be valuable parts of the process. Most importantly, I bring a genuine, supportive, and nonjudgmental presence. My goal is to help clients feel heard while gaining the clarity, skills, and confidence to take meaningful steps forward.
My ideal client is someone who appreciates structure, practical tools, and having a clear direction in therapy. You may know you want to make changes but feel unsure about where to start or how to turn insight into action. You may also find it helpful to have things you can see, organize, and work through rather than simply talking about your experiences. I work especially well with clients who appreciate visuals, diagrams, worksheets, and other tangible resources that help make thoughts, emotions, and patterns easier to understand. I also value clients who are open to homework, reflection, and practicing skills between sessions because meaningful change can continue beyond the therapy room. My approach is collaborative and personalized, while providing the structure and guidance you may need to stay focused on your goals. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Together, we’ll create a clear, practical path forward—one step at a time.

I have used CBT as a treatment method working with the majority of my clients. CBT goal oriented approach helps my clients monitor their interventions and progress towards their goals that address challenging thoughts and patterns.
Utilizing SFBT helps my client change their perspective and not focus on the ongoing issues, but set goals and find their inner strength.
