New to Grow
I’m Mariaelena Modica, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) offering virtual telehealth from Staten Island, NY. I specialize in helping both young and older adults managing anxiety and depression, particularly around career transitions, relationship challenges, and identity exploration while using a blend of integrative therapies of cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness techniques. I create a space where you can explore challenges and develop practical strategies for growth.
In therapy with me, you’ll find: A non-judgmental space to explore your relationship with self, practical tools to manage difficult emotions without harmful behaviors, support in building a sustainable recovery that honors your whole self, and collaborative work that respects your unique journey. Recovery is possible, and you don’t have to walk this path alone. Contact me today to schedule a consultation and take the first step toward growth.
What sets my practice apart is my commitment to ongoing learning and my integration of creative methods that make therapy engaging and relevant to your daily life. I work collaboratively with each client, adjusting my approach to match your unique needs and goals. My client-centered approach means that you are the expert on your experience, while I provide the tools, support, and guidance to help you overcome challenges and build the life you want. Together, we’ll work to understand the root causes of your anxiety or depression while developing practical strategies you can use right away.
My ideal patient is open to self-reflection and personal growth, values authenticity and honesty in relationships, curious about understanding their emotions and patterns and appreciates a warm, non-judgmental space. The therapy goals that the ideal patient would be working on are to reduce anxiety and improve emotional regulation, build confidence and self-compassion, develop healthier boundaries in personal and professional life and to gain clarity and direction during transitions
Integrative
Integrative treatment methods focus on addressing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—where I use a combination of conventional and complementary therapies such a mindfulness, CBT and psychodynamic therapy. I use Integrative therapy because it is flexible and personalized, allowing me to tailor my approach to meet the individual needs and goals of the person. I use integrative methods because it can help with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.
