Abigail Longpre
Hello and Welcome! I am a queer, neurodivergent therapist who strives to create a safe and comfortable space for clients. I work with adults and specialize in working with complex trauma, queer individuals, neurodivergent individuals, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, and those experiencing chronic illness and mood disorders.
As a neurodivergent individual, I work to create a neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic environment and utilize a mix of DBT, ACT, and IFS to meet the needs of clients.
I operate using a neurodiversity-affirming approach and utilize a mixture of modalities depending on individual client needs.
First session
The main focus will be on what you want to get out of therapy. I want to hear your concerns, how you want your life to look, and I will explore how we can proceed.
Strengths
As a neurodivergent individual, I work to create a neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic environment and utilize a mix of DBT, ACT, and IFS to meet the needs of clients.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is struggling with navigating the world with their own struggles and has decided they are ready to make a change.
Treatment methods
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to work on acceptance of challenges and anxieties, as well as regarding grounding and tolerating uncertainty.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Parts work can be life-changing and I find that working to be kind to our self can benefit us more than fighting the physical and emotional difficulties we experience.
