Hello! I’m a Licensed Therapist-Supervisor (LPC-S) with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Minor in Sociology, as well as a Master’s of Arts in Counseling. My primary therapeutic approach for individuals is Cognitive Therapy, complemented by Dialectical Therapy when it aligns with clients' needs. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The goal of the initial appointment is to ensure you feel safe, comfortable, and welcomed. It's common for clients to say, "I don't know where to start!"—sometimes, the best first step is simply taking a deep breath. Remember, you’re here to get help in finding clarity. After introductions, we’ll discuss what has brought you here, even if it’s not immediately clear. We’ll begin by setting a goal and explore strategies to support you right now. In future sessions, we will build on these strategies and tailor our approach to better meet your evolving needs. This is a pressure free zone, remember that!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strength lies with my extensive experience. I have been a counselor for more than 20 years and private practice for 13. In guiding young people, adults and professionals my experience has honed my skills in listening with empathy and insight. I am adept at interpreting both what is said and what remains unsaid. In addition, my blend of knowledge and education, along with my sincere approach, fosters positive outcomes. Our sessions will be enriched with valuable insights and tools to promote understanding and growth. With support and guidance you will be on your way to a happier more fulfilling life! Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT's focus on identifying and challenging problematic thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can be transformative, as it helps you to understand how your thought patterns influence your emotional and behavioral responses. By working through these patterns, clients can develop healthier ways of thinking and reacting. It is amazing how much client's benefit from this therapy, specifically because it just feels like a conversation. Voicing things out loud, to someone who is actually listening, without judgement can be transformational.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT's emphasis on mindfulness, emotional regulation, and acceptance can be particularly powerful for those struggling with intense emotions and interpersonal difficulties. The mindfulness techniques in DBT help clients stay grounded and present, which can enhance their ability to manage stress and build resilience. Emotional regulation strategies are crucial for maintaining stability and improving relationships. Please know that this is a collaborative experience. You are not in this alone, together we will explore and identify the struggles that are affecting you and develop a plan to foster personal growth and well-being.
