Do you know how you want your life to look but you don't know how to get there? I can help to guide you. As a therapist, my goal is to provide compassion, information, support, reassurance, expertise and guidance. I enjoy collaborating with individuals, parents and families to ease day-to-day struggles while also resolving the underlying patterns that continue to create distress.
In our first session, we will chat about what brings you to therapy and I'll share how I work and what you can expect in the subsequent sessions.
My training is in the Humanistic and Psychodynamic approaches to therapy, with influence from the mindfulness and Internal Family Systems approaches. I believe in the goodness of you and help you to feel seen and heard; I help you to examine your beliefs about yourself; I offer concrete ways to challenge your anxious or destructive thoughts; and I guide you to stay mindful of how you experience your feelings in your physical body. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families as both an educator and a therapist and I am also a parent myself. I am fluent in Spanish and have a background in health education.
I really care about my clients and I know they feel this warmth and care from me. I love helping them to figure out why certain feelings or patterns come up and how to shift those patterns. I love weaving in examples and metaphors from previous sessions to help integrate the shifts from week to week.
