My name is Winnie Momanyi, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I have experience with Mental illness for over 10 years. Mental health has always been my passion, so I decided to specialize in order to provide and share my expertise. Although I have worked with all populations, my preferred population is adults 18 years and above. I have worked in State hospitals and private clinics where I have dealt with varieties of mental illness which involved different mental disorders and Substance Addictions.
My first session with you will be an acquittance session and goal setting session .It is my believe that knowing a person first before treating them as a patient helps treat the patient wholistically and create an individualized care plan.
My approach is holistic where a patient is treated with care and involved in their own care .I have seen through experience that involving a patient in their own care has improved their well being and has increased compliance to the recommended treatment options.
I have worked with all populations but my preferred population is any person who is 18 and above. Person who is open-minded and goal oriented. Person who loves teamwork and who is not afraid to ask questions about their treatment needs and wants to better their life. Person who wants to is willing to be patient and let the treatment take its course as there is no quick fix.
