I am a licensed clinical social worker and as a therapist, I've worked with people across the age span from pediatrics through the geriatric population. I have worked in child welfare, maternal infant mental health services, as well as the community mental health and education sector. My variety of experiences have helped me become very equip and at ease with being able to not only be solution focused, but also understand the delicate and intricate journey of being human and knowing that at some point, everyone needs help with their problems and/or figuring out what they want to accomplish and achieve in life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session my initial focus will be on making it feel like a safe and welcoming space. Although there will be standard questions that I ask trying to learn more about your background, but also the current current challenges, issues and problems that bring you into therapy. The other important aspect is making sure you feel comfortable to the point of being able to open up to be yourself and if my style, approach and personality is a good fit for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a provider and psychotherapist, my greatest strength is my ability to help people feel at ease, it is a safe space where a client can open up, be themselves and share whatever is on their heart, mind and soul, without the fear of judgement which makes a person feel seen, heard, understood and respected.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

As a neurodivergent therapist, I enjoy working with adults who have been diagnosed with ADHD for the first time as an adult. The challenges that come with this become very complex and the tipping point for causing a lot of life challenges and transitions to become even more overwhelming. Whether you are a parent, single, young adult or somewhere in the middle, trying to learn how to better prioritize and put your needs first while also setting and upholding boundaries can be a difficult thing to do.

My treatment methods

Brainspotting

I've been trained in Brainspotting and completed Phase 1, Phase 2 and Masterclass training. I like using Brainspotting because it is a bottom up treatment which aims to release the physical stress in the body, thereby leading to a release of the emotional stress in the body as well. Brainspotting is a non-invasive technique that respects the client’s pace and comfort level. It allows for deep healing without the need to re-experience trauma directly. I use this treatment in my practice because it allows a client to tap into their own brain-body connection for its self healing abilities. During a Brainspotting session, as the therapist, I help the client find specific points in their visual field that elicit a strong emotional response. These brain spots are believed to be directly connected to the areas of the brain where the emotional trauma is stored. Many clients experience significant improvements in a relatively short amount of time, making Brainspotting an efficient and very effective therapeutic option for a number of clinical issues and life challenges. By addressing both the mind and body, Brainspotting provides a holistic approach to healing, recognizing the interconnectedness of emotional and physical experiences.
