Hi, welcome! I am Jennifer Soriano. I’m a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, ADHD, and a range of emotional or relationship challenges. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or unsure how to manage daily stressors, transitions, or expectations in their personal, academic, or professional lives. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and culturally responsive therapeutic space where clients feel safe, understood, and respected. I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel empowered and actively involved in their own growth. In our work together, I offer practical, evidence-based tools to help strengthen emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, build confidence, and improve day-to-day functioning and relationships. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to each client’s unique developmental stage, background, and cultural identity. I recognize the impact of life experiences, family systems, and culture on emotional well-being, and I integrate these perspectives into treatment. My goal is to support clients in developing healthier coping strategies, fostering resilience, and creating meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels comfortable and sustainable for them.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I focus on getting to know you in a safe and supportive space. I’ll ask about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and relevant aspects of your history, while making sure you feel heard, comfortable, and supported. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you and begin creating a plan together that aligns with your needs and goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a therapist is creating a compassionate, grounded space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood. I balance emotional support with practical, developmentally appropriate strategies to help clients build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I support children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, ADHD, and emotional or relationship challenges. I frequently work with ADHD-related concerns, including emotional regulation, executive functioning, and self-esteem. I provide a structured and emotionally safe space, along with practical tools that clients can apply outside of sessions to build confidence and improve daily functioning.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I offer a Person-centered approach that creates a warm, supportive space where clients feel truly seen and understood. Through personalized care, clients gain practical tools, build confidence, and develop stronger emotional regulation skills. My goal is to support each individual’s growth and resilience while empowering them to become the authors of their own life story.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that impact mood, relationships, and daily life. Through a collaborative process, we practice practical strategies for coping, problem-solving, and building emotional awareness. I also support clients navigating ADHD by strengthening emotional regulation, executive functioning, and confidence, helping them thrive both personally and professionally.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing as a collaborative, client-centered approach that supports individuals in exploring their goals, values, and readiness for change. My experience with MI allows me to meet clients where they are, helping them feel heard and respected while strengthening their own motivation and confidence. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations, I support clients in resolving ambivalence, building self-efficacy, and making meaningful, sustainable changes that align with their values.
