I appreciate you taking the time to learn about me and consider working together. As there are likely many therapists who can accompany you on your journey, here’s a bit about me, which may help you make a choice. When you feel overwhelmed, lonely, self critical, or stuck in swirling thoughts and emotions, it can be hard to know how you got here or how to move forward. I understand what this uncertainty is like. The bumpy ups and downs of becoming a student, professional, partner, and parent sometimes brought me to my knees. The experiences of getting back up taught me how to thrive on the inside, even when the surrounding world feels unpredictable. This journey toward joy, connection, and inner steadiness inspired me to become a clinical psychologist, and it fuels my optimism for your healing. I offer virtual therapy for adults and older teens who want support navigating these moments and finding steadier ground. With me you’ll find a blend of: Warmth & Humility. A safe space to be yourself, slow down, and understand what’s happening Insight & Irreverence. We’ll look at the hard stuff, and probably laugh a little, too. Steady Shifts. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. Together, we’ll tackle your questions, quiet your worries, get comfortable with your feelings, and help you feel at home with yourself.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

While everyone’s experience is different, this description offers a look at how therapy typically gets started, how we collaborate, and how it wraps up. 1. INITIAL CONSULTATION. This 20-minute appointment is an opportunity for you to share why you’re reaching out and also learn about me. During our initial therapy consultation we’ll identify how I can be helpful and a 'good fit.' 2. THERAPY PREPARATION. Assuming it feels like a match, we’ll handle the logistics and gather information to jump-start your therapy! Before your first session we'll set up your standing appointment time. You’ll review my policies and complete forms. These include a consent for treatment, intake form, and online questionnaires to share how you’re currently doing. 3. EARLY SESSIONS. In your initial Intake session we’ll develop a shared understanding of your pain points and hopes. Over the next couple of sessions we’ll co-create a plan to address your current concerns and goals. My goal is to create a safe, steady space and help you notice important patterns, gain insights, and experiment with small doable steps to gain hope, self-compassion, and feel connected and freer. 4. GAINING INSIGHTS AND SKILLS. Most people meet with me weekly for 55-minutes. Through conversation and inquiry, you’ll experience ‘ah ha’ moments as we consider why certain thoughts and feelings are emerging (or repeating). Through practice outside our sessions, you apply these insights to your daily life. The number of months we’ll collaborate depends on each person's concerns and specific goals. People often experience initial improvement over six months. 6. WRAPPING UP. As you start to feel better and gain confidence, your vision often broadens of what’s possible. At this point people usually refine or add new goals, choosing to continue learning and practicing in therapy until these goals are met. There comes a point when you’ve achieved the life you pictured. Hurray! As you get ready to fly solo, we’ll take a moment to celebrate your progress and identify any next steps.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

i'm a thoughtful partner in navigating life's uncertainties and challenges. I listen for what’s beneath your words to see things from a new angle, help you make sense of what’s happening and picture what your life can become. Our weekly sessions are an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and make sense of your world. I provide a solid partnership to help you figure out and shift what's getting in the way, however the goal is not to “fix” you. Instead I support you developing deeper understanding, steadiness, and self-trust. ABOUT ME While I have a lot of expertise, I am not the expert on your life - you are! in our sessions you can expect: Curiosity. We’ll explore your present experiences, get curious about the past Practicality. We will use research-grounded strategies to find relief, one step at a time. Collaboration. A space for reflection without pressure for quick answers. MY APPROACH I’m told that working with me feels collaborative and respectful. I listen intently, honor your challenges and illuminate your successes. Gentle, direct (and sometimes irreverent), I use everyday language to ask questions. MY TRAINING Licensed as a clinical psychologist since 2006, my work is shaped by years of accompanying and guiding people through significant life changes. I focus on helping individuals understand themselves, develop practical strategies, and move forward with greater confidence and steadiness. I received my foundational Master’s and then Doctoral training at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. This rigorous, APA-accredited program focused on clinical competence, complex diagnosis and treatment, multicultural awareness, and community service. My education emphasized deep, experiential learning, ethical practice, and critical thinking. I also hold advanced training in psychological assessment, a way of thinking I continue to apply to help clients make sense of their cognitive, emotional, and behavioral patterns. HOW WE'LL WORK TOGETHER I keep track of what you tell me, noticing how that fits into your bigger picture. With your permission, I share observations and hypotheses so we can explore those ideas and identify next steps together.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

My job is to blend multiple therapeutic methods to help you gain self compassion and confidence, apply new perspectives, and create routines & habits you actually want to keep. Doing this means you can focus your energy on what truly matters - You!

Attachment-based

For more than two decades I've integrated insight oriented approaches, specifically Attachment and Control-Mastery therapies. We'll use these to understand and shift how early experiences and relationships shape the way you relate to yourself, others, and the world. The therapist extends a safe and collaborative space to explore patterns that may no longer serve you, develop compassion for how they formed, and gently loosen their hold—so you can move toward relationships and goals that feel more aligned and fulfilling.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT can help you flexibly cope with challenges and achieve your goals Together, we’ll identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and replace them with balanced perspectives. We embrace 'good enough,' rather than striving for perfection. CBT is a practical approach. We’ll break things down into small, achievable steps you can practice outside of therapy.

Strength-Based

Harness your unique strengths to increase hope and fuel your growth! Our strengths are often unseen and overlooked. Surprisingly, some strengths were gained by navigating life’s challenges. We’ll collaboratively uncover these strengths through techniques like re-storying, mindfulness, journaling, and a timeline of personal successes. You can then harness these internal resources to build a more fulfilling life.
