About me

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from day one. With seven years of post-graduate experience, I've worked with people from many backgrounds and life stages. I believe therapy is a collaborative process- where you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as we explore your goals together using talk therapy, along with creative approaches like art, drama, mindfulness, or meditation when they fit your needs.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other, and I'll ask about your history, what brought you to therapy, and the goals you'd like to work toward together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths is adapting my approach to each client, whether you're looking for a gentle, compassionate presence or someone who will challenge you and help keep you accountable. Either way, I want you to feel respected, understood, and actively involved in your own care.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with individuals ages five and older, including children, adolescents, teens, and adults, and I have several years of experience supporting families and individuals in addiction treatment. I believe everyone has the ability to grow and create meaningful change, sometimes all it takes is the right support to take that first step. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you build on your strengths toward the life you want.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I think it's important to allow my clients to choose the direction of therapy. I value our therapeutic relationship and will remain nonjudgmental and empathetic as we work together.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in many of my sessions as my clients and I challenge the relationship between their thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. Whether these thoughts, behaviors, and feelings are helpful or counterproductive, I'll work very hard to get to the root of these patterns so we can explore how to move forward.

Motivational Interviewing

I have used Motivational Interviewing (MI) for over 4 years in my work with clients in substance abuse- and in other settings as well. MI explores a client's readiness to make changes in their life and the factors that help them feel ready to change or hesitant to take steps.

Reality Therapy

Choice Theory is part of Reality Therapy's foundation, and Choice Theory concentrates on what each person can control and is responsible for. I help clients focus on their behaviors as part of the choices they make and whether these choices are in line with the goals they have set for themselves.
