New to Grow
Hi, I’m Jessica Vitela, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. As a Latina and bilingual therapist, I’m passionate about creating a warm, compassionate, and culturally responsive space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. My approach is collaborative and rooted in empathy, helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationships, life transitions, and perinatal and postpartum challenges. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish and believe your culture, familia, and personal experiences are important parts of your story.
In our first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming space where they feel comfortable sharing their story at their own pace. We’ll explore what brings them to therapy, discuss their goals, and begin identifying what support might look like for them. My goal is for clients to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the work we can do together.
I bring warmth, empathy, and a nonjudgmental approach to my sessions. I strive to make clients feel comfortable being themselves while helping them explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and find their voice. As a bilingual Latina therapist, I also value understanding each client’s cultural background and how their relationships, family, and life experiences shape who they are. My approach is collaborative, meeting each person where they are.
My ideal clients are adults who may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, postpartum experiences, or the pressures of parenting and meeting everyone else’s expectations. I enjoy working with people who are ready to better understand themselves, strengthen their boundaries, and reconnect with their needs and values. I strive to support clients as they navigate their experiences, explore how family and culture have shaped them, and build a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop practical coping skills to manage emotions and navigate life’s challenges. I tailor interventions to each client’s needs and goals while providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they feel heard and empowered to make meaningful changes.
I also use a person-centered approach to create a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and accepted. I believe each person is the expert on their own experiences, and I work collaboratively with clients to explore their feelings, recognize their strengths, and build self-awareness. I meet clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences, values, and cultural backgrounds while supporting them in finding their own path toward growth and change.
