About me

I am a multicultural bilingual psychotherapist, and your well-being is my ultimate concern. Since the age of 7, I knew I wanted to help others and provide them with the tools needed to overcome life stressor. I have worked with individuals from the age 6 to 93. I love working with people and helping them learn about themselves and watching the process.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Let's imagine to people sitting around a table drinking coffee and just getting to know each other. I will probably ask questions, but you can ask me too.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I implement an effective psychotherapy method to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations, and I do this by building a therapeutic relationship. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results. I have an eclectic theoretical orientation in several modalities.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

There is not one type of client I prefer. I feel everyone is different and should be treated accordingly. It is not a one shoe fits all, type of thing. I would like to collaborate with you or each person that comes into my office and work together on building strategies to improve their way of thinking and living. We

My treatment methods

Psychoanalytic

The psychoanalytical therapy process focuses on helping you understand how unconscious thoughts, early life experiences, and recurring relationship patterns influence their current emotions and behaviors by allowing you to speak freely.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps you identify and change unhelpful patterns of thinking (irrational thinking) and behavior that contribute to your emotional distress. The central principle of CBT is that our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviors, and by changing inaccurate or unhelpful thoughts, we can improve how we feel and act.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based form of cognitive-behavioral therapy originally developed to treat emotion dysregulation and borderline personality disorder. DBT also is useful with many other diagnoses such as, anxiety, depression, trauma, etc. We will use mindfulness along with learning how to regulate your emotions. Two opposite things can be true as the same time.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based behavioral therapy that helps you develop psychological flexibility the ability to experience difficult thoughts and emotions without being controlled by them while taking actions that align with your values. Rather than trying to eliminate distressing thoughts or feelings, ACT teaches to make room for them, accept them and learn to continue living a meaningful life.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-Informed Therapy is not a single therapeutic technique but a framework for providing care that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and emphasizes creating a safe, collaborative, and empowering therapeutic environment. It assumes that many individuals have experienced trauma and seeks to avoid re-traumatization. We will build a safe place for you and collaborate.
