I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I have over 10 years of experience working as a counselor. I obtained my Master of Education in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from Delta State University. I have worked with clients ranging from ages 4 to geriatric. During that time, I have worked with an array of individuals with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, adjustment difficulty, self-esteem, ADHD, Schizophrenia, and Bipolar. As a counselor, I want you to consider me your tour guide. Along the journey, I will be present with you and point out important things. I will help equip you with the proper tools to improve your current state and overall quality of life. I believe in humanism and being transparent. I want you to be able to trust me in the process and with your information.
Before your intake session, we’ll begin with a consultation, which is a brief call (about 15–25 minutes) to determine if we’re a good therapeutic fit. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, share what brings you to therapy, and get a feel for how I work—without the pressure of diving all the way in on day one. I also use this time to assess whether I’m the best person to support you based on your needs and goals. For that reason, intake sessions should be scheduled at least 72 hours out to allow enough time to complete the consultation first. Once we move into the intake, we’ll focus on building a solid foundation for our work together. I’ll provide a welcoming and confidential space for you to share your story, concerns, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We’ll explore your goals, begin mapping out a plan, and discuss what you can expect moving forward.
As a POC, it is important to me to ensure there is no more suffering in silence. I am committed to providing a voice to the younger generation with the use of play when talk therapy is not the best option. I am passionate about prison reform, mental health provided to offenders, and the continuity of care for ex-offenders and their families. My strengths include Women's Empowerment, and the continued fight for education, empathy, respect, and understanding of all humans.
I specialize in providing support to a diverse range of clients, including women, adults, children, adolescents, and people of color. My clients are often seeking assistance in navigating mental health challenges, whether it's managing anxiety, depression, or other concerns. Many of my clients have co-occurring disorders or complex needs, and I am skilled in providing holistic and person-centered care to address their unique circumstances. Among my clients, I particularly enjoy working with young professionals who are in the first few years of their careers. They are often eager to improve but may lack the tools needed to make their goals a reality. My approach focuses on providing guidance and support to help them overcome obstacles, gain clarity, and move forward with confidence in their careers.
I am a person-centered therapist. Simply speaking, I utilize the approach that is best for the client in certain situations. This allows me to prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore and express thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Rooted in the principles of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine understanding, this method is centered around each client's unique needs and perspectives. I strive to actively listen, reflect, and collaborate with you, fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect. Together, we work towards self-exploration and personal growth, allowing you the autonomy to navigate your journey of self-discovery and positive change at your own pace.
