I am Aprell Taylor, a licensed therapist and school counselor with extensive experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s most stressful seasons. My work in schools has given me firsthand insight into the challenges families face today—emotional overwhelm, communication struggles, parenting stress, and relationship strain. I help my clients navigate anxiety, life transitions, and emotional burnout, and I work with couples who want to strengthen communication, rebuild connection, rebound from infidelity and create healthier relationship patterns. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on practical tools that support lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a time for each of us to get to know one another. I may ask a few questions, but really it's the clients time to share what brings them to therapy. My focus is building rapport and creating a space where the client feels safe and heard. We assess where the client is and together decide on a few goals to work towards.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have been told before that I am an intuitive listener. I can often hear what someone did not say.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best suited to work with individuals experiencing mental and physical symptoms related to situations in their daily lives, i.e. work stress, parenting, difficult relationships and life changes such as new baby, divorce, loss of a loved one or job. My clients seek assistance when their day to day stressors become overwhelming. I work with individuals in all stages of life, helping them acquire the skills to navigate each new season.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavior therapy helps clients understand that their feelings are a result of their thoughts and belief system. Identifying faulty thought patterns is helpful in reframing situations and perspectives which in turn leads to different feelings and behaviors.

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach in combination with CBT, focusing on the individuals strengths and past successes rather than their failings and weaknesses.
