Currently accepting new clients via teletherapy. I want to share with you that I have the experience of being a client in therapy. My journey in therapy led me to become a therapist. I'm sharing this with you for a couple of reasons: 1) I understand that it can feel awkward or uncomfortable to share personal things with someone you don't know. I also know that for some of you, it will feel like a relief. Whether you feel ambivalent about being in therapy or all in, that's okay with me. 2) I can meet you and get to know you in your darkest places. I truly believe in the therapeutic process from my own experience as a client and my work as a therapist. My Background & My Work After a career as a juvenile probation officer, I earned a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. I completed my licensure after two years of working in court-mandated in-home family therapy. I want to know about your family history. Our family system shapes our beliefs about ourselves and the world and how we do (or don’t) take care of ourselves. Our family is the first model for our relationships. My focus is on understanding how your history plays out in your life today. This awareness can lead you to a more fulfilling life.
Clients can expect to be heard in a completely non-judgmental space. To process their life experiences and learn to better manage their emotions.
I practice a strength-based, solution-focused, systemic modality. Training clients on different coping mechanisms and providing psychoeducation in order for them to have a better understanding of their experience with coming to a place of acceptance.
I have extensive experience working with individuals, children, families, and couples that are having issues adjusting to the difficulties of life that often bring symptoms of constant fear, worry, and sadness.
