Helping people heal and grow is my goal. For me, therapy is not just a profession but a calling – a way to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. As a compassionate therapist, I genuinely care about helping people heal from challenges and experience growth. I specialize in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and PCIT (Parent-Child Interactive Therapy), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I work closely with clients to address trauma, anxiety, and relationship challenges, including parenting challenges. My approach to therapy is warm, empathetic, and down-to-earth. I work to provide a safe space where clients feel honestly heard and supported. I help clients make the changes they are desperate to make but are unsure are possible. What truly drives me is my genuine care and empathy. I am the kind of therapist who listens deeply, offers a comforting presence, and ensures you feel safe and supported.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first meeting is a time to connect and learn about each other. I obviously need to learn people's goals and motivation in therapy. But, also, clients get to learn about me so they can determine if I am a good fit for them.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The therapeutic approaches I use, PCIT; EMDR; and CBT are rigorously studied and are proven to help people get relief in a relatively short time. I understand that when parents are struggling, when people experience trauma, or when they are struggling with depression and anxiety relief can't happen quickly enough. I feel so lucky that I have the tools to help people get relief as soon as possible. In sessions I sometimes sit quietly and hold space for clients but I also challenge people and provide feedback when needed. In any situation, I urge clients to tell me who they are and how they like to work together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in treatments that have been proven to be effective. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a short term, powerful treatment for young children, ages 2-10, experiencing behavioral and/or emotional difficulties and their families. Using PCIT allows me to support parents and children in building stronger, more peaceful, and loving relationships. With Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) , I gently guide clients through the process of confronting and processing painful memories, helping them find relief from trauma and anxiety with both children and adults. I specialize in relational trauma, like betrayal or not feeling cared for as a child, often referred to as cPTSD. I have seen firsthand how powerful this technique can bring about real change. If your childhood continues to impact you presently, it would be an honor to be part of your healing journey. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the gold standard treatment for depression and anxiety for all ages.

My treatment methods

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT)

PCIT is for children with behavioral and/or emotional challenges, such as tantrums and severe anxiety. PCIT uses live coaching to help parents and carers learn proven parenting strategies. PCIT is an incredibly powerful short term treatment that helps entire families have the peace they can't find right now.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is the proven gold standard treatment for depression and anxiety. CBT helps people recognize the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behavior to help people break patterns that negatively impact mood and cause problems in life. CBT teaches people the power of realistic thing and how it can reduce anxiety pretty rapidly.

EMDR

EMDR helps people process both "Big T" traumas like serious injury or war as well as "little t" traumas that stem from unhealthy relationships both in adulthood and childhood. I do work with children and adults with EMDR. It is also proven to reduce or remove the negative impact of all kinds of trauma.
