Meet me, Midlaine, a double-board Certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner on a bold mission to revolutionize mental health care!
Through compassionate, holistic care and education, I bridge gaps in access, advocate for equity, and inspire lasting transformation in every life I touch.
First session
In our first session, we'll take some time to get to know each other. My approach focuses on understanding you as a whole person, considering both your mental and physical health. This is a safe space where you can share your thoughts and feelings openly, without judgment. We'll work together to explore your experiences, identify your strengths, and discuss how we can support your well-being. There's no rush; today is about listening and understanding where you're coming from. My goal is to make sure you feel comfortable and supported as we begin this journey together.
Strengths
My biggest strengths as a provider are my deep empathy and strong commitment to really understanding each person I work with. I create a safe and supportive space where my clients feel comfortable opening up and being themselves. I focus on the whole person—both mind and body—to help them make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives.
Ideal clients
My approach to psychiatric care revolves around understanding and supporting the whole person. I believe that mental and physical health are intertwined, and by nurturing both, we can promote overall well-being. Together, we can work towards enhancing mental health outcomes and fostering a more supportive environment for everyone.
Treatment methods
Psychoeducation
My approach focuses on helping individuals understand their diagnoses, symptoms, treatment options, and the connection between mental, emotional, and physical health. I routinely provide education on conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and trauma-related conditions, as well as the purpose, benefits, and potential side effects of medications. I tailor psychoeducation to each patient’s level of understanding, cultural background, and readiness for change, using clear, practical language rather than clinical jargon. I also emphasize skill-building, coping strategies, lifestyle modifications, and relapse prevention, empowering patients to actively participate in their care and make informed decisions. My goal is to reduce stigma, increase insight, improve treatment adherence, and support long-term stability and wellness.
