Licensed to practice in Florida and accepts 18 insurances. Specializes in Military/Veterans, Trauma and PTSD, Women's Issues and 15 more.
I completed my Masters in 2005, while also starting my journey in the field in 2004. I spent a year working in Opiate addiction but my true passion was children and families. I moved on to intensive services, working with underserved children and their families in rural areas, from 2005-2007. After leaving that position, I moved onto a company doing similar work. where I continued to work with children, families and adults that were underserved for 5 more years. I provided therapy in homes, schools and the office setting. I began to focus in on Trauma work as well as anxiety disorders to include OCD and all other anxiety disorders. After spending nearly 10 years in the field, I decided to get my license in the state of Florida (LMHC-Licensed Mental Health Counselor) and move into a management role where I worked for the past 13 years while also maintaining private clients. I supervise therapists, working to become licensed, so I spend a lot of time consulting on cases of all kinds. In this time I was also trained in various forms of trauma based cognitive behavioral approaches as well as EMDR (still learning however).
Hearing your concerns and struggles in our first session is my first objective. What do you want to get out of this experience? Am I the right clinician for you? I am trauma focused but have experience in many of life's challenges. I will get a full history and we will discuss your goals and clinical recommendations. We will develop a plan to get you from the start to finish and with the outcomes that you want and need.
I know choosing someone to tell your deepest darkest secrets is not an easy task and can be downright scary. But us keepers of secrets understand the personal nature of this decision. You must choose wisely and choose what's best for yourself. That's the first step in this journey. Either way congratulations on just making this decision to try to take care of yourself. If I do become your choice we will make the most of our journey together and I do promise to meet you where you are at. The best analogy I can come up with is that I am the passenger in your car. You are in the driver's seat. I am going to do my best not to be a "backseat driver." I am only there to remind you to keep your eyes on the road, help you find your direction, and to hold the steering wheel for that moment when you just can't. My goal will be to get you to your destination safely. Wherever you choose that destination to be. No judgement just empowerment...utilizing a variety of trauma focused methods to include Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Mindfulness techniques, Acceptance and Commitment, Cognitive Processing and maybe a little EMDR sprinkled in although I am a bit rusty at the moment.
Client's looking to address all forms of trauma (Little t to big T). I have also worked with Veterans diagnosed with PTSD. Motivated clients are always a blast but I also understand how difficult it can be to trust someone in this situation so I also enjoy working with clients that aren't completely sold on therapy. I am a strong believer in "Each to his own" so I do my best to respect that mindset.

I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I am an eclectic provider. I like to pull from various interventions that I love and I know work. CBT tends to be the root of most other interventions so it's the most common go-to and is at the heart of what we do. We look at trauma (and other issues) from a holistic lens. What happens in the brain, what happens in the nervous system. How do thoughts and behaviors come together and how can we change that relationship to better serve the clients growth.
