(she/her)
I am a therapist who integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to support clients in navigating challenges with anxiety, OCD, and related concerns. My experience as a teacher, school-based mental health counselor, and parent has shaped a well-rounded and practical approach to therapy, allowing me to connect with clients and families from multiple perspectives. In addition, I am trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a parent-based treatment program designed to help children and adolescents struggling with anxiety and OCD. While children do not attend SPACE sessions, they are always at the heart of the work, with parents empowered as the agents of change.
Your first session is all about getting to know you and creating a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. We’ll talk about what brought you (or your child) to therapy, what challenges you’ve been facing, and what goals you’d like to work toward. I’ll also share how I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—and find practical ways to move forward. If your child is struggling with anxiety or OCD, I may also introduce SPACE therapy, a parent-based program where you’ll learn tools and strategies to support your child’s progress. Children don’t attend SPACE sessions, but they remain the focus of the work, with parents empowered as the key agents of change. By the end of our first meeting, you’ll have a clearer idea of how therapy can help, and together we’ll decide on the next steps. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is bringing both compassion and practicality to the work we do together. With experience as a teacher, school-based counselor, and parent, I understand the challenges families face from many different perspectives. I strive to make therapy a supportive and encouraging space, while also offering concrete tools and strategies that clients can put into practice in their daily lives. My training in CBT, ACT, ERP, and SPACE therapy allows me to tailor treatment to fit each person’s unique needs, helping clients and families feel both supported and empowered as they make meaningful changes.
I work with Clients who may be struggling with anxiety, OCD, and issues related to school, relationships, or family. I am trained in SPACE therapy, which teaches parents how to support their children so they can be successful in controlling their own emotions. My goal is to help people understand the emotions behind their actions. Emotions may be expressed through lack of motivation, aggressive actions, refusal to participate in activities, use of drugs or alcohol, self-harm, or having negative beliefs about themselves. I work with Clients to learn healthy communication and coping skills for today's world. I use SPACE, ERP, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my practice. In your first session, we will explore why you have sought therapy and then collaborate on the most appropriate ways to help you achieve your therapy goals. In the following sessions, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and behavior. I will provide support to help you change your thoughts to change your emotions.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I help clients identify unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress and teach them strategies to challenge and reframe these patterns. They also guide clients in practicing healthier behaviors and coping skills to improve daily functioning and emotional well-being.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
By gradually exposing clients to feared situations or thoughts while guiding them to resist engaging in their usual compulsive responses. This helps reduce anxiety over time and teaches clients that they can tolerate distress without relying on compulsions.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
By helping clients notice and accept difficult thoughts and feelings without trying to eliminate them. I also guide clients in clarifying personal values and taking committed actions that align with those values, even in the presence of discomfort.
