My name is Megan Farrar and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), as well as a ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). I offer a space that honors all identities and experiences, where radical acceptance is the foundation. Whether you’re seeking clarity, growth, or simply a safe place to land, I’m here to walk alongside you. I believe therapy can be a space that feels just as real and supportive as the life you’re trying to build. Outside of therapy, you can find me thrifting, playing video games, or spending time with my Corgi, Sage, and cat, Oyo.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, expect for me to ask a lot of questions! I want to make sure that I can understand your situation to the best of my ability in order to tailor my approach to your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am strong at identifying underlying thought patterns and emotional responses, then breaking them down into manageable steps that feel realistic for each person. I also bring a balance of empathy and directness. I create a supportive environment where people feel understood, while also challenging unhelpful beliefs and avoidance patterns that maintain distress. This allows for both emotional processing and measurable progress over time. I utilize radical acceptance in order to meet you where you are and begin moving forward from there.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to work with adolescents and adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, and the lasting impact of trauma, particularly those who feel overwhelmed by their thoughts, emotions, or daily responsibilities. Many of my clients are high-functioning but internally struggling with self-doubt, emotional regulation, or difficulty following through on goals. I specialize in helping clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, build emotional awareness, and develop realistic, sustainable strategies to improve functioning in their daily lives. My approach is especially effective for individuals who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, avoidance, or impulsivity, and are ready to challenge those patterns in a supportive but direct environment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I tend to use CBT in a very applied, client-centered way rather than rigidly. I am good at helping clients identify patterns, as well as how this shows up in real life and what to do differently. This aligns well with behavioral activation and skills-based CBT, especially for those who may need structure.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

I utilize pieces of REBT, through picking up on irrational beliefs and challenging those in a grounded, reality-based way. This can help people look at what’s actually true vs. assumed.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I utilize person-centered principles by building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. This approach allows people to feel heard, understood, and empowered as they explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences, while also supporting the use of other evidence-based interventions tailored to their unique needs.
