New to Grow
I am a psychotherapist based in New York City with a background that helps me understand the weight of high expectations. As a first-generation professional, I know what it is like to balance career goals with deep-rooted family and cultural values. My work is built on being a real person in the room with you, offering a direct but supportive space where you do not have to "hold it all together." Together, we will focus on what matters most to you so you can move toward the life you want to lead.
Our first meeting is mostly about us getting to know each other and seeing if we are a good fit. You don't need to have a perfect plan or all the answers ready when you walk in. We will spend some time talking about what brought you in and what you hope to get out of our work together. I tend to be pretty direct and down-to-earth, so you can expect a real conversation rather than just a one-sided interview. We will take a look at where you are right now and start to build a steady ground where you can feel safe sharing the messier parts of your life. By the end of the hour, we should have a basic starting point for how to help you move toward the life you want.
One of my greatest strengths is being a "real person" in the room. I don't believe in being a blank slate. Instead, I bring a direct and down-to-earth style to our sessions. I am comfortable sitting with you in the messier parts of life and won't shy away from the hard stuff. I am also very good at helping high-achievers and professionals navigate the unique pressure of living between two worlds. Because I understand the weight of cultural and family expectations, I can help you find a balance that actually feels right for you. My approach is practical and focused on action, using tools like ACT to help you take conscious control of your life so you can finally move toward the person you want to become.
My ideal clients are often the people that everyone else relies on. They are high-achievers and thoughtful adults who are very good at "keeping it together" on the outside, even when things feel heavy on the inside. Many of my clients are first or second generation professionals who are navigating the unique pressures of family expectations alongside their own career goals. They aren't looking for a blank slate. They want a therapist who is real, direct, and capable of sitting with them in the messier parts of life.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use a style called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you figure out what actually matters to you. We will work together so you can take charge of your choices and move toward the kind of life you really want to live. It is all about helping you become the person you want to be through small, steady steps.
