About me

Welcome to a decision that can change your life- therapy! Whether you want help with anxiety or depression, or you’re struggling in communication or your relationship(s), you’ll learn how to be kind to yourself, understand yourself and others more, and come out feeling better than you came in. Here, you will understand what it means to be worthy of love despite your circumstances, because you are, and so is every person around you!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will get to see if we’re the right fit. We’ll get to see the communication that best suits you. The beautiful thing about therapy is that you can fire your therapist!! I will get context for what is bringing you into therapy and your goals for therapy. Sometimes, you may not know what your goal is because you’re just trying to understand what is going on yourself, and that is okay! We get to sift through whatever you feel comfortable with during your first session. If you want to dive right in, I got you! If you’re looking at me like I don’t know you- let me just put one pinky in, that’s cool too. I won’t push you in the deep end… yet. I’ll go at your pace this first session! (The first session typically has a lot of paperwork, but thank God it won't be like that for every session!!)

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The same way we learn differently is the same way we heal differently. Whether it is trauma, grief, abuse, depression, mental health conditions, family turmoil, relational issues, adjusting to change, and anything in-between, I am here to collaborate with you in any way that helps you go through life’s journey. For some, that may be cognitive-behavioral therapy or Christian counseling. Others may be solution-focused. Some may desire creative therapy. For a couple, I may use Emotionally Focused Therapy. My approach is tailor-made to the individual, couple, or family that I’m working with and uses a little bit of everything. Either way, my approach will always be to help you learn how to love yourself/partner/family as you (all) evolve. My communication style reflects the client that I have. Some clients like direct communication. Some clients prefer easing into a conversation. Either way, I am kind, but not nice. Nice is telling you what you want to hear. Kindness is communicating what you need to hear according to your goal that you gave me. I help you keep accountable to what your goal is- and it can change, of course!! I am here to help you to see the truth in love. I ask the hard questions, but I will normalize that we’re all human. You’re not alone. None of us are perfect. So while honest, it is not a zone for judgment, but a zone of becoming closer to the person you know you are.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

It is an honor to get to do Christian counseling and use the Word of God to dismantle the lies from the enemy. With Christian Counseling, there is freedom to look at mental health holistically including through a spiritual lens. Your spiritual experiences won’t seem “crazy” to me! From deliverance to inner healing to renewing your mind to obedience, to forgiveness, we can talk about it all!!

Couples Counseling

I love Couples and I love Love! With Pre-Engagement or Pre-Marital Counseling, I ask the hard questions that people tend to tiptoe around. I think about different areas of concern that typically show up with couples and help Clients mitigate these issues. While Marriage can be challenging, it is something worth fighting for. From miscommunication to infidelity, I’ve seen marriages come out stronger with therapy. I assist in wiping the mirror that has been fogged by trauma and triggers to help couples see one another rightly. One thing I have noticed is that nothing is impossible with God! I’ve seen marriages that were heading towards divorce be turned around by God!

Sex Therapy

Sex may be the fruit of the problem, but I’m sure it’s not the root of the problem. Whether it’s from previous trauma or from debilitating beliefs, in sex therapy, we navigate the different issues that may be contributing to the lack of marital bliss. In Pre-Marital counseling, we discuss desires and any potential issues that may arise around sex. Some people like to have sex but are afraid of speaking about it. Here, we get to be real and unpack what is happening! There may be some sexual homework assignments! This is also a way to get in deeper intimacy with your Partner as vulnerability and authenticity play a huge part in sex therapy.

Family Therapy

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I consider the entire family system and assess how life experiences within your family/environment shape your relationship, communication, and ways of thinking. We look at patterns from generations before and what things you want to carry into legacy and what things you prefer not to follow. We sift through the trauma and triggers that impact family dynamics and healthy ways to navigate through them as we embark on the healing journey. There are times where it may include individuals, parents, siblings,or a mixture even of extended-family, if helpful.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our brains are powerful! “As a man thinketh, so is he.” There are many negative thinking patterns that have impacted the way we live and sometimes we think it is impossible to get out of. The beautiful thing about brains is that we can rewire it! We get to notice and challenge unhealthy thinking patterns with truth. Just a tip, whether you work with me or not, journaling is so helpful and I suggest reading your journals to notice how you think. When you notice the lie/thought process you’d like to change, write down the truth/ the way you want to think!
