New to Grow
I possess 3 years of experience working in hospice settings and over 20 years of experience working in the community with patients who have severe and debilitating mental illness. This has prepared me to work with people who are grieving as well as those who have anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and co-occurring substance misuse. I utilize a Person-Centered approach with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused interventions when working with clients, as I strongly believe in meeting you where you are in the healing process.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, my priority is helping you feel comfortable and understood. We’ll take time to talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been carrying, and what you hope will feel different in your life. I’ll ask about your history at a pace that feels manageable, and together we’ll start shaping goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—this session is simply a space to begin exploring, settling in, and getting to know one another.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My approach is unique because it empowers clients on two levels: emotionally and practically. You receive the compassionate, respectful presence of Person-Centered therapy—where your voice and experiences guide our work—while also learning DBT tools that give you confidence, clarity, and greater control of your emotional landscape.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with clients who want therapy to be collaborative, respectful, and empowering. Whether the goal is to reduce anxiety, heal from trauma, improve mood, or build healthier relationships, I partner with clients who are ready to grow at a pace that feels right for them.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I like DBT because it really works in everyday life. It helps people ride out big emotions, communicate clearly, and make choices they feel proud of. I see clients use these skills outside of session, and that’s where the real change happens.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I incorporate person-centered techniques because I believe people thrive in environments where they feel safe, understood, and accepted. This approach helps clients access their natural capacity for healing and personal growth.
