New clients continue care with this provider

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with 8 years of experience. My clinical experience is working with individuals who are dealing with cancer and chronic illness, both from a personal and clinical perspective. I have successfully helped clients navigate through challenges such as anxiety, depression, and OCD. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and ultimately find healing and growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session with me, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they can feel safe and comfortable. I understand that starting therapy can be a vulnerable experience, and I strive to create a space where clients can openly express themselves without judgment. During the initial session, we will begin by discussing your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve. This is an opportunity for you to share your concerns, goals, and any specific challenges you may be facing. I will actively listen and ask questions to gain a deeper understanding of your unique situation. Additionally, I will explain the therapeutic process and answer any questions you may have. It's important for clients to have a clear understanding of what to expect from therapy, including the frequency and duration of sessions, confidentiality, and the therapeutic approach I utilize. By the end of the first session, clients can expect to have a better understanding of the therapeutic process and feel more comfortable with me as their therapist. We will also establish goals and a plan for future sessions, ensuring that we are working towards your desired outcomes. Overall, the first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, establish rapport, and lay the foundation for a successful therapeutic journey. I am committed to providing a supportive and compassionate space where clients can feel empowered to explore their emotions, gain insights, and work towards positive change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, my strengths are in creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I believe in the power of empathy and active listening, and I strive to truly understand and validate my clients' perspectives. One of my key strengths is my ability to build strong therapeutic relationships with my clients. I am warm, compassionate, and approachable, which helps to establish trust and rapport. I genuinely care about my clients' well-being and am dedicated to supporting them throughout their therapeutic journey. I am also skilled in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions. I stay up-to-date with the latest research and incorporate this knowledge into my practice. I am trained in various modalities, including ERP for OCD, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and solution-focused therapy. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each client. Another strength of mine is my ability to help clients gain insight and develop self-awareness. I ask thought-provoking questions and encourage clients to explore their thoughts and feelings on a deeper level. I believe that self-awareness is a powerful tool for personal growth and change. Additionally, I am experienced in working with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds. I am sensitive to the unique challenges and experiences that individuals from different cultures may face, and I strive to create a culturally inclusive and affirming therapeutic environment. Overall, my strengths as a therapist include creating a safe and supportive space, building strong therapeutic relationships, utilizing evidence-based techniques, fostering self-awareness, and being culturally sensitive. I am committed to helping my clients overcome challenges, develop coping skills, and achieve their goals for personal growth and well-being.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have a passion for supporting individuals and their families who are going through cancer or chronic illnesses. My focus on helping parents and caregivers is also very important, as they play a crucial role in the support system. My creative approach to techniques for reducing somatic symptoms related to anxiety, depression, and OCD is commendable. Incorporating somatic healing into trauma work can be very effective, as it recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind and body. Overall, my dedication to providing holistic support and utilizing innovative techniques shows my commitment to helping clients find healing and growth.

My treatment methods

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

First, we’d create a hierarchy of behaviors and avoidances to be able to slowly work through them. We will collaborate and create exposures you can feel comfortable trying inside and outside of session.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Clients can learn to stop the behavior after having the thought.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

In session, clients can learn where these maladaptive coping behaviors are rooted and begin to make positive changes.

Mind-body approach

Our body is telling us what we need to know once we learn how to listen.

Somatic

If we notice in our body the sensations attached to our anxiety or depression we can work to heal and decrease somatic manifestations.
