Welcome! I’m Tamika of Life in Bloom. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Wedding Officiant. I’m here to help you navigate life's stressful relationships. In our talks, I refer to those stressors as “thorns.” Why thorns, you ask? Great question! Because even the most beautiful roses have some uncomfortable pieces. That doesn’t make them any less beautiful, valuable, or appreciated. I have been commissioned to help couples, families, friends, and any other relationship dynamic find their communication style, boundaries, and build trust. It is truly my joy and my personal life’s work. Therapy isn’t what we have traditionally seen on television or in film. It is so much more than sitting on a big, comfy couch, sharing your innermost thoughts/feelings. Therapy is beautiful and transformative - and can take work. Don’t worry! I am here to help you every step of the way. Life and all the hats you wear from day to day can be challenging. I encourage and empower you to unlock the power you have inside of you. I promise you it’s there! I also help you reflect on how far you have come in order to celebrate your victories with you - big or small. Kudos to you for seeking help! You are in a safe space. In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, I plan to build a rapport and get to know the things you would like to address in therapy. I want to know how you learn and prefer to interact. This information helps create your treatment plan and how will work going forward. I also want to hear your questions that you have about the therapy process.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strengths as a therapist is the passion I have for helping my clients heal. Like most therapists, I have great listening skills and I also have a great ability to use humor during sessions. We can certainly laugh a little during the healing process.
