I am a board-certified Family Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with almost 10 years of experience treating individuals of all ages and background. I am actively licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Georgia, Florida, New Jersey and New York with plan to expand my reach to other states.

I also utilize nutrition, exercise, and herbal supplements in addition to prescription medication to manage symptoms.

I am an Army Veteran and proud to support other Veterans in their mental health journey. My combined personal, educational, and professional background in nursing, social services, military, and conflict resolution has allowed me to be a well-rounded person who is able to connect with diverse populations, to include those from different ethnicities and LGBTQ identified. I have expertise in treating all ages across the lifespan who are challenged by depressed and irritable moods, trauma, negative thoughts, anxiety, impulsive behaviors, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD, insomnia, phobias, grief and loss, life transitions, and family conflict. I am passionate about working with children and their families to offer insight into behaviors and improve relationships across the entire family for generations to come.

First session

During your first session and going forward, you can expect an opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings without judgment and gain insight as to what you may be experiencing. Clients can decide whether to only receive talk therapy or combine therapy with medications. I am also glad to offer second opinions in regards to psychiatric diagnoses and medication options. There is never any pressure to prescribe medications. My hope is to create an atmosphere that allows you to freely discuss your challenges and be open to feedback and education regarding the various treatment options. My goal at the conclusion of your first session is for you to feel heard and leave with a better understanding of your mental health.

Strengths

I offer a holistic approach to care that is patient-centered and patient-driven. I use active and empathetic listening to be a partner in creating an individualized treatment plan. I also utilize nutrition, exercise, and herbal supplements in addition to prescription medication to manage symptoms. I am passionate about working with individuals and their families to promote healthy behaviors across generations. I also offer guidance during difficult life transitions such as going away to college, marriage, divorce, parenting/co-parenting, release from prison, transitions out of the military, lifestyle choices, etc. I would like to think my humor and easing going attitude allows even the most guarded patient to be vulnerable enough to share personal details about their mental health.

Treatment methods

Supportive

Each treatment method used relates to the appropriate diagnosis. The best treatment method is medication management combined with therapy to gain insight and skills to utilize on your own upon stabilization.
