About me

Hi, I’m Maci. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, family conflict, and substance use. I’m licensed in Colorado as an LMFT, LPC, and LAC, in Utah as an LMFT, and in Louisiana as an LPC and LMFT. My approach is warm, honest, and collaborative. I believe therapy should be a space where you can be completely yourself while also being challenged to look at the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. I’m here to help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, strengthen your relationships, and build the tools to create meaningful change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is about getting to know one another and creating a comfortable space for you to share what brought you to therapy. We’ll spend time talking about your background, current concerns, relationships, and what you hope to get out of therapy. I’ll ask questions so I can better understand the bigger picture and what may be contributing to what you’re experiencing. We’ll also begin identifying your goals and what you would like to work toward together. You don’t need to come in knowing exactly what to say or have everything figured out. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and understood while setting the stage for the work we’ll do together moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I’m a Southern gal who believes in being honest, genuine, and real with my clients. I’m not someone who is going to sugarcoat things, but I also believe that honesty can be delivered with compassion. I’m direct, but gentle, and I’m not afraid to challenge you when I think there is an opportunity for growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals, couples, and families who are struggling in their relationships, navigating family conflict, or wanting to make a change in their relationship with substances. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of what to do next, but they know something needs to change. I work best with clients who want to get something out of therapy and are willing to be active participants in the process. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. You just need to be willing to show up, be honest, and explore what may be getting in the way of the life and relationships you want. I’ll meet you where you are, challenge you when needed, and work alongside you to create meaningful change.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore what they truly want and feel more confident making meaningful changes. I recognize that change is rarely straightforward, especially when we feel stuck between wanting something different and being unsure how to get there. With couples, I use a collaborative approach to help partners understand each other, work through ambivalence, and identify the changes they are each willing to make to create a healthier relationship. With substance use, I help clients explore their relationship with substances without judgment, understand what may be keeping them stuck, and identify their own reasons for pursuing sobriety, moderation, or harm reduction. My goal is not to tell you what you “should” do, but to help you understand yourself, clarify what matters to you, and build the confidence to make changes that align with the life and relationships you want.
