Hi! My name is Shellie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri. I received my Masters from Webster University in Myrtle Beach, SC and have been practicing for a little over 6 years. Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, or the lasting effects of trauma and PTSD, you don’t have to face it alone. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and emotions, gain insight, and build skills to move forward with confidence.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked for over 6 years with adults, children and adolescents, I have built a playbook to follow to help clients reach their potential by: a) identifying the root cause of your challenges and (b) creating a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who may feel overwhelmed by the weight of daily life, struggling with persistent worry, sadness, low motivation, or a sense of disconnection from themselves and others. They may be experiencing anxiety or depression that interferes with their relationships, work, or sense of self-worth, and they’re ready to explore these challenges in a supportive and structured environment. They don’t need to have everything figured out—they just need to be open to the process of growth. My ideal client is willing to show up authentically, even when it’s difficult, and is curious about how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Whether they’ve been in therapy before or are seeking help for the first time, they value having a space where they can feel heard, understood, and gently challenged to create change. Above all, they’re seeking a collaborative therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, empathy, and practical tools. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients learn to recognize and shift negative thinking patterns, build emotional resilience, and regain a sense of control in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT in my practice to treat depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and others. During session I provide psychoeducation and we work on setting goals. We will work on coping skills and then delve deeper into the issues that brought you to therapy. I use cognitive restructuring techniques where change to your thinking habits are addressed, behavioral interventions and, finally, relapse prevention.

Compassion Focused

Compassion focused therapy is empathy based, person-centered and concentrates on finding your inner peace.

Eclectic

I blend multiple treatment modalities and theories into my sessions because not everything can be solved with the same process.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness techniques most sessions. It can include breathing exercises, sensory-imagery focus, etc. The point is to get in tune with your body so you can begin to feel your emotions again in the correct manner.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The focus of therapy is on you. As a therapist I am there to assist you in discovering your path.
