Hi there! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who desires to help you find freedom, understanding, and restoration. I want you to feel heard, validated, and supported as we walk through this season together and gently uncover belief patterns that are contributing to your present challenges. I am EMDR trained and am able to work through past experiences in a safe and structured manner, so they no longer feel as overwhelming. I consider it an honor and privilege to work with children, adolescents, women, and moms. It takes great courage to ask for help and I'm so glad you're here!
In our first session together, we will review your intake forms, discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, set goals, and begin to establish rapport with one another. I will ask questions to understand your background, concerns, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. It's also a chance for you to ask any questions and discuss the therapeutic process.
After being in the field for over 9 years, I see the importance in fully knowing a client and allowing them to feel safe to be their authentic self.
I love working with families who need help with parenting. From personal experience, I know it takes a village and I want to support you on your parenting journey. I also enjoy helping clients with anxiety and/or depression to help increasing their coping skills.
In my therapy sessions, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by focusing on helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs. We work together to understand how these thoughts affect their emotions and behaviors. Through various techniques, such as cognitive restructuring and behavioral experiments, we aim to replace these negative patterns with more positive and realistic ones.
EMDR is used to treat a variety of mental health diagnoses by helping you process distressing memories. During the sessions, we will focus on the traumatic memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, which helps reprocess these memories and reduce their emotional intensity.
