Why My Experience Changed My Mind About Telehealth I started my career providing therapy in person. Like many therapists, I believed that some of the most important conversations in therapy needed to happen face-to-face. It was time—and actual experience with my clients—that completely changed my perspective on telehealth. As I began providing therapy through telehealth, I noticed something I hadn’t expected: My clients seemed more relaxed, more open, and more like themselves when they were in their own space. Anxiety would ease. Their bodies would relax. And they began opening up in new ways.

I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, families and military service members.

First session

Starting therapy for the first time can feel uncomfortable. Starting again with someone new can feel even harder. You don't need to know exactly what to say. You don't need to have your story perfectly organized. And you don't need to know exactly what you need before you reach out. We'll start where you are. I'll ask questions. I'll listen. I'll offer perspective and practical feedback. We'll look at what's happening, what's getting in the way, and what you want to be different.

Strengths

You don’t have to leave your world to talk about your world. You can sit in your favorite chair, in your car, or tucked away in whatever private space makes you feel most at ease. You can have your coffee beside you, your dog nearby, and a little more control over the environment while having some of your most personal conversations. My clients often tell me they come into therapy feeling nervous or overwhelmed and eventually find themselves feeling comfortable, understood, and even looking forward to our sessions. That matters to me.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Working with CBT allows the focus to be what is going on in your life right now, rather than what led to to the challenge. While some degree of past experience can be helpful, the focus is on moving forward, developing healthy coping mechanisms along the way.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-focused therapy puts solving the problem at the forefront of the conversation. This method can be especially helpful if you have a particular problem and need help solving it.

Strength-Based

The strength-based approach focuses on the the strengths a person already has, rather than what might be lacking. This method utilizes one's current knowledge and capabilities to foster growth and change.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy helps the family improve interactions through talking with each other. Improving communication, developing healthy boundaries, and reducing conflict among family members.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

The Person-Centered approach, alone, or in combined with other types of therapy, can help with the challenges of anxiety, depression, abuse and grief,

Didn’t realize at first I could only pick 2 style qualities. Very genuine person who really takes the time to get to know who you are. I’m actually looking forward to future sessions. I’ve seen several therapist/counselors in the past and never felt helped except by one. Thank you Rashell Gambell 10/25

I have been working with Rashell for over 3 years now. With her help, I have changed in so many ways which are significantly more healthy for me and my life. I wouldn't be here without her. So many behaviors stand out regarding Rashell. She is intelligent and speaks to me likewise, our sense of humor matches, she gives me direct feedback and challenges me appropriately, she is solution oriented, and empowers me to try new things. Rashell saved my life.

I’ve seen a few different therapists over the last year to address the grief and trauma over losing my brother and I haven’t clicked with anyone until I found Rachell. She doesn’t just listen, she gives insight I couldn’t see on my own and advice that I can actually use to make a difference in my life. I’m so thankful to have been matched with her!
