About me

I am a board-certified, Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Louisville, KY. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, providing care for patients who struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more. I have extensive experience utilizing trauma-focused modalities, including TF-CBT and EMDR, and have been a board-certified social worker for over seven years. My treatment approach is rooted in evidence-based practices that focus on the impact of trauma on the mind and body. I studied at the Kent School of Social Work, where I received a Master of Science in Social Work. I am an empathetic listener who does a great job of helping people understand why they feel the way that they feel. I specialize in helping people recover from traumatic experiences through doing parts work, TF-CBT, and EMDR. I believe that patients can overcome any obstacle once they are connected to their parts of self. If you are struggling and need help, I am here for you. I accept Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Quest Behavioral Health, Carelon, and private pay patients. If you are struggling or need someone to talk to, please reach out via text or email.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, traumatic symptoms, and attachment wounds. Initial sessions involve delving deeply into the events that contribute to feelings of helplessness and struggle. We will collaborate on making a plan for healing that is smart and achievable. Most clients come away from sessions feeling empowered to move forward with their lives.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are empathy, sensitivity, and kindness. I utilize unconditional positive regard and work hard to ensure client safety.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve young adults and teens as those are the populations I have spent the most time working with. I also have experience treating adults and children. I am trauma-focused in my approach taking into account the impact trauma has on parts of self. My goal is to help each client feel safe enough to process through trauma in an effective manner.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT since I started practicing seven years ago with clients of all ages. I use it by exploring client's thoughts about themselves and others and seeing how I can help the clients shift their thoughts so that they view themselves and others in a more positive light (that's an oversimplification).

EMDR

I finished my EMDR training in 2020 and have been using EMDR with clients since then. I use this first to stabilize unstable parts through resourcing. When clients are ready, I then help them process through trauma.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I completed my training in TF-CBT during 2019. I use this with clients under teh age of 18, as that is the population it is intended for. I use elements of TF-CBT with adult clients (psychoeducation, coping skills, trauma narrative, etc.).

Motivational Interviewing

I completed MI training while working with my last agency. I use it with clients who have parts that are opposed to change so that they can move more easily through the stages of change.
