New to Grow
Hello everyone. I am Rose Detwiler-Shreve and I enjoy reading, martial arts, and taking care of my cats, dogs, and horse. I am caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I have encouraged and helped various patients of all ages throughout the last 8+ years find peace and hope for their lives. Together, we can discover strategies and goals for your future for next month, next year, or even 10 years from now. When you are ready to leave the stress and discomfort behind, I will be here to help you in your walk through life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session will be a getting-to-know you time. Background information is necessary so that I know how to help you best. I will need to know if you had any previous counseling, diagnosis, trauma, or medical issues along with what was helpful and not helpful for you. What are the things you like, don't like, and what do you enjoy doing with your free time?
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapeutic approach is very compassionate and empathetic. I understand that situations and things that happen in life can be devastating to some people while others are more resilient. Patients are comfortable with me and seem to find it easy to share.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to serve someone who can talk about their concerns, fears, or anxieties concerning their past or future.Do you have motivation to make a change but don't know where to start? Making short-term goals is a good start.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use this method to understand the needs of the person/ couple and determine their pattern of thinking. Then, I offer words of encouragement, support, and ways that may be helpful.
Christian Counseling
This method is helpful for those who are seeking Biblical-based words of encouragement, support, and guidance. I have used this method for those seeking this method.
Family Therapy
This method is helpful for homes with children/teens that need guidance with establishing the roles for each person in the family unit. This helps with boundary setting in the family.
Grief Therapy
Grief therapy is helpful for those experiencing a death among their friends or family. Compassion and understanding are critical.
Trauma-Focused CBT
This method has been used to support people who have had physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual abuse.
