Hi I'm Bethany. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California and Pennsylvania. Is this your first time looking for a therapist? I imagine it may feel a little scary, which is normal. I strive to create a comfortable and safe space for my clients where they can share their thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged. Sometimes it can be really beneficial to have a listening ear. I am happy to be that someone for you. My background is diverse from working with teenagers on probation, children of all ages in the school system, families, parents, and new Mothers. Whether you are a college student, just out of college starting your professional career or maybe a new Mom trying to handle it all, I am here for you for support! *Please keep in mind when making an appointment my calendar is set on Eastern Standard Time and the slots I have available are the slots I have available ongoing. I am on EST currently so I cannot offer later evening appointment times unfortunately.
In our first session we will review the intake form, so I will have several questions for you to get to know you better. You are welcome to ask me questions. Who you pick as your therapist is up to you so if you don't feel a connection during our intake session, you are welcome to make an appointment with another therapist who may be a better fit. You should feel comfortable and at ease with your therapist.
Past clients have told me I am an easy going and laid back person that made it easy for them to feel comfortable with opening up to me. A lot of my past experience working with individuals have been with adolescents and young adults who often had never had any experience with a therapist before. I have had success in working with these individuals. Common issues I have had a lot of experience with are anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, self-identity, anger, academic struggles, pressures of being an athlete, life transitions, communication, family dynamics, peer pressure, ADHD, and women's issues. I’m also a Mother, so if you’re struggling with the challenges of what having a new baby can bring I’d be happy to be of support to you.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques as an evidence-based treatment for diagnoses including anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
I enjoy implementing Mindfulness practices in my work with clients. I have found it effective with becoming more in tune with feelings/thoughts and with managing anxiety/stress.
