First session
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Strengths
As a Counselor at Sunshine & Glory Counseling, I provide Christ-Centered Clinical Counseling Services. You will receive counseling from within a Biblical Worldview with emphasis on healing, growth, and transformation. As your therapist, it is an honor to come along side of you and provide clinical, Spirit-led and Word-based instruction, skills, and counsel to help you navigate through the difficulties you are struggling with currently. I provide a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere in order to learn new skills, heal and be free. My theoretical approach is integrative allowing me to apply components of several major counseling and psychological theories. I most generally utilize CBT and Person-Centered but I am also trauma-informed and clinically trained in EMDR (Leve 1 and 2), EMI, and basic Sozo.
Ideal clients
I love working with clients who are seeking to better understand themselves and how they fit into the world around them. Clients who might be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck within their current circumstances, whether that be in a career, relationship, or family. My clients are eager to learn and needing a safe place to explore the past, improve the present, and prepare for the future they hope for. I also enjoy working with clients who are seeking Christian-based counseling.
Treatment methods
Christian Counseling
I provide Christian Counseling as a Trauma-informed professional, clinically integrating skills and therapeutic approaches to bring holistic healing to my clients. I believe the spiritual component of an individual’s life is just as important as the mental and physical. I encourage clients to explore areas that will enhance spiritual growth and inner healing. I strive to provide the tools necessary for my clients to find freedom and walk in wholeness: spirit, soul, and body.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy aims to change thought patterns, conscious and unconscious beliefs, attitudes, and, ultimately, unwanted behaviors. My experience with utilizing this treatment modality is to explore the hidden roots to personal struggles by focusing in on what you are thinking and believing. By learning self-awareness, observing patterns of beliefs, your emotions and behaviors, we can discover new ways to help you live the life you've always desired.
