Hi! I am Lexi. I have been working with high acuity trauma clients for three years, since switching from a career in school counseling. Working with clients who have experienced immense trauma is such meaningful work that I am so grateful to be a part of. My clinical passions are centered around helping individuals build their self-worth, challenge thinking traps, and manage mental health symptoms through coping mechanisms. The most rewarding circumstances for me are helping clients to reclaim their strengths and their story, while working towards fostering a healthy environment of love and acceptance for their selves. While my experiences have been largely based on trauma throughout my career, I am open to all clients and enjoy working with individuals from all backgrounds and circumstances. :)

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

What clients can expect from our first session is me working to meet you where you are at. It is my intention to get to know you and your needs more profoundly. I am happy to let you take the lead on that, or can help get the ball rolling for clients who may not know where to start. The first session is all about you and establishing therapeutic goals that align with what you are looking for from treatment. I value this first session very much and emphasize your comfort and the potential to build a therapeutic relationship.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe my greatest strengths as a clinician are my ability to connect and my passion for this work. Passion for helping people truly find ways to help themselves. I so profoundly believe in the power we all hold inside of us and helping people realize and step into their own power simply is my life’s mission. Professionally and personally. I find results follow when you meet a client where they are and help provide them with the tools they need to step into this power.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients may be carrying some weight of burden but are hopeful that brighter days can come and just need some help getting there. Clients who are interested in building their self-image, fostering healthy connections, and discovering coping supports in their life would be a good fit. I feel interpersonal relationship work is a unique strength of mine and I would be very excited to engage in couples therapy, for any clients that may be of that need. :)

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the cornerstone of my personal practice. While it is not always applicable, I find that having better understanding of your thoughts as well as how those thoughts affect your feelings and behaviors is empowering and impactful in many situations.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Through coping skills and mindfulness practices clients can find a great deal of relief and build their distress tolerance. Helping clients learn and identify coping skills that, personally, work for them is a passion and strength of mine as a clinician.

Motivational Interviewing

It is one of my greatest pleasures as a clinician to help individuals better understand themselves, including identifying their strengths and motivations for change. Working with clients through translations and trauma, reclaiming these strengths and gaining meaningful direction in their lives has been some of the most meaningful work of my career.

Trauma-Focused CBT

My clinical experience has been full of high acuity caseloads. Specifically in programs that treated gun violence trauma survivors, chronic homelessness victims, and substance abuse individuals. Using TF-CBT has been a pillar of my work with these clients and helping them process their trauma and decrease the impact of symptoms on their ability to function in their day to day lives.
