After earning my Masters Degree of Professional Counseling in 2011, I have served in several roles as a therapist and clinical supervisor in a variety of settings- including community mental health, juvenile justice facilities, faith-based non-profit organizations, palliative care/hospice, and private practice. I believe that we were never meant to do life alone- and that the greatest healing happens in the context of relationships. MY HOPE for all who I serve is that you would leave this space experiencing a life of grace-filled freedom that allows you to grow, show up authentically, and courageously connect with the world around you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will spend time getting to know one another. YOU are the expert of your story- and I will seek to understand what brings you to therapy and what hopes you have for coming to this space. Additionally, I will provide an overview of any specific therapy modalities that you can expect to experience during our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

While working in the mental health field for nearly 20 years, I have benefitted from being trained in a number of evidence-based practices- including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness, and perinatal and infant mental health. Being a well-trained professional that focuses in on my niches (couples counseling, perinatal mental health, attachment-focused individual/family therapy, and grief/loss counseling) allows me to best strengthen my skill set and provide informed, high-quality care.

My treatment methods

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I have completed specialized training in individual and couples counseling through the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). Being an EFT therapist means that I prioritize emotion and emotion regulation as the key organizing agents in individual experience and relationship interactions.

Attachment-based

I have received specialized training as a perinatal mental health clinician through Postpartum Support International and as an infant mental health clinician through MI-AIMH. I have also been trained as a postpartum doula through DONA International and a childbirth educator through Lamaze International. Completing training in these evidence-based practices allows me to provide informed care through the childbearing and early childhood years (pre-conception, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and children ages 0-6 years old).
