LMHC, 7 years of experience
How was your day? Your month? Or even your year? Are you overwhelmed by what tomorrow will bring? Are you overthinking, and need someone to talk with? Are you having a hard time getting on track and struggling to meet deadlines or expectations? Maybe something doesn’t seem right, and you find yourself restless. Maybe you lost pleasure in things you use to love. Ready for A Change? A new day begins today with no more stumbling through life. Your connections with me will allow you to overcome challenges. Many people are experiencing what you are experiencing. It takes courage to recognize that you need a helping hand and starting therapy is the first step. I provide a safe place to share your experiences and work towards growth. I actively participate in the therapy process by encouraging and empowering you to achieve your goals and live the life you are destined for.
In our first session together, my goal is to help you feel comfortable and safe as we begin building a trusting relationship. We’ll start with some introductions, and I’ll explain a bit about how therapy works, including confidentiality and what you can expect from me as your therapist. I’ll ask you to share what brought you to therapy and what you hope to get out of our work together. There’s no pressure to tell me everything right away you get to share at your own pace. I may ask some background questions to better understand your history, current concerns, and goals, but this is always a collaborative process. During this session, you’ll also get the chance to ask me any questions about my approach, the therapy process, or what working together might look like. We’ll talk about what methods may be most helpful for you such as cognitive-behavioral strategies for working with thoughts and behaviors, or person-centered approaches that focus on creating space for your feelings and experiences. By the end of our first meeting, my hope is that you’ll leave with a sense of what therapy will look like with me and feel reassured that you don’t have to go through this journey alone we’ll take it step by step together.
I gained experience as a therapist by working with individuals, children, and families to learn effective tools for managing and overcoming behavioral, mental, and emotional issues. I have experience working with dependency, foster care, transitioning to residential treatment, co-parenting, and couples counseling.
Children and adults of all ages, individually and within family conflicts. Clients with workplace issues, trauma, abuse experiences, anger management issues, anxiety-related disorders, postpartum depression, and depression.
In my practice, I use CBT to help clients identify the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I focus on increasing their awareness of unhelpful or distorted thought patterns, then work collaboratively with them to reframe these thoughts into healthier, more adaptive ones. I often incorporate structured interventions such as thought records, behavioral activation, and coping skills training. For example, with clients experiencing anxiety or depression, I use CBT techniques to challenge catastrophic thinking and introduce evidence-based strategies to manage symptoms in daily life.
Alongside CBT, I take a person-centered approach by creating a therapeutic environment built on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness. I believe healing happens in the context of a safe and supportive relationship, so I emphasize listening without judgment, reflecting feelings, and allowing clients to guide the direction of sessions at their own pace. This empowers clients to trust themselves more deeply, build self-awareness, and develop self-acceptance. I find that combining CBT with a person-centered foundation works well. While CBT provides clients with concrete tools and strategies for change, the person-centered approach ensures that the process remains client-led, collaborative, and attuned to each individual’s unique needs. This balance helps clients feel both supported and equipped to make meaningful progress.

I just finished my fifth session with Chavekka and I’m so grateful. Her tools for managing anxiety are actually working, and I finally feel like I’m making real progress. What I appreciate most is how she holds me accountable without making me feel ashamed. It’s like talking to a friend who sees you, really sees you...but still gently challenges you to grow. I’ve cried, I’ve laughed, and most importantly, I’ve started to heal. I’m genuinely grateful to have her walking with me on this journey.

My therapy session with Chavekka today was amazing. She brought a lot of insight, kept it 100, and created a space where I felt seen and supported. She was real, honest, and incredibly helpful throughout the session. I’m genuinely looking forward to my next one. Thank you, Chavekka!

Just had my first virtual therapy session and it was such a great experience. Chavekka made me feel at ease right from the start. I really appreciated how she shared relatable stories and gave me space to just talk through everything...even when I was rambling a bit trying to make sense of my feelings. It felt like a real, honest conversation. She also shared some helpful coping tools that I can start using right away. I’m truly looking forward to continuing this healing journey with her.
