Hi, I'm Anne, a therapist who works primarily with adults navigating the emotional and psychological impact of recent medical issues, life transitions, and grief/loss related issues.
I provide a supportive, client-centered space where individuals can process their experience, discuss the challenges they face in their life (and the accomplishments too), and work towards regaining a sense of control. My goal is to help clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped with practical strategies to manage the challenges they face.
First session
In our first session together, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. I'll ask some questions to get to know you-your background, what brings you to therapy, and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. We'll also talk about what therapy might look like moving forward, and I'll answer questions you have about the process. Most importantly, this session is about starting to build a connection and making sure you feel supported and heard.
Strengths
I bring warmth, patience, and a deep empathy to my work, allowing clients to open up at their own pace. I'm an active listener and a collaborative partner. I work towards creating a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen and heard.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to support adults who are looking for a compassionate space and therapist to navigate life's current challenges-whether that's stress, adjustment, or emotional overwhelm. Many of the clients I work with are seeking not only a listening ear but also practical tools they can utilize to better manage daily stressors and feel more in control of their lives.
Treatment methods
Compassion-Focused
In my practice, I incorporate a compassion focused framework as a foundational approach to help clients feel emotionally safe, validated and understood. I use this approach to foster self-esteem and enhance motivation.
Supportive
I use a supportive approach to help build a therapeutic relationship to help clients feel safe, validated, and empowered. Through this approach, I reinforce their strengths, offer emotional support, and provide practical tools to manage life's challenges.
