Hi! My name is Caroline. I have worked in the mental health field for 10 years and became a therapist because I wanted to help others learn how get through some of life's challenges. My favorite thing about being a therapist is getting to be a part of other people's journeys as they grow and learn new things about themselves.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session with me typically involves me getting to know you. We will go over consent forms and talk about what is bringing you to therapy. If there's time, I like to get some information about your history as well. We will also discuss medication if that is something that interests you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I do my best to make our therapy sessions feel like a conversation rather than me interrogating you or you feeling like you have to do all of the talking. I like to use humor in therapy because it can help people connect and hopefully makes therapy feel less like a chore. I use an eclectic approach with most clients, which lets me pull from different evidenced based therapies to tailor therapy sessions to each individual client.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

In general, I enjoy working with clients who are coming to therapy with an open mindset on how to achieve the change they want to see. Sometimes it takes time to start seeing improvement and the issues you are wanting to work on may have deeper roots than you realize. I also enjoy helping people with relationship issues, whether that be in couples counseling or navigating difficult family relationships.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you learn how to handle difficult thoughts and feelings without letting them control your life. Instead of trying to eliminate discomfort, it focuses on building psychological flexibility so you can respond in ways that align with what truly matters to you. The goal is to help you take meaningful action toward your values, even in the presence of challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and how they influence each other. It focuses on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and replacing them with more realistic, balanced ones. The goal is to equip you with practical skills you can use to manage challenges and improve your day-to-day well-being.

Strength-Based

A strengths-based approach focuses on identifying and building on what’s already working in your life, rather than only focusing on problems. It helps you recognize your abilities, resilience, and past successes as tools for navigating current challenges. The goal is to empower you to use your strengths to create meaningful and positive change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) helps you learn practical skills to manage intense emotions, cope with stress, and improve your relationships. It balances acceptance of your current experience with strategies for making meaningful changes in your life. The goal is to help you feel more in control, respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively, and build a life that feels worth living.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed care recognizes that past experiences can shape how you feel, think, and respond to the world today. It focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment while helping you understand your reactions with compassion rather than judgment. The goal is to empower you with a sense of control and build skills that support healing at your own pace.
