Jennifer M Kimlingen
Hello and welcome, I'm Jennifer. Are you searching for meaning and understanding in the wake of loss? Are you concerned for yourself, and your children, or struggling to develop a path forward? Do you feel overwhelmed with the idea of keeping your loved one's memory alive while navigating the very complex emotions of grief? I provide a safe and comforting space to process the emotions of grief and loss. Together, we can honor your loved one's memory and create a toolbox that will help you and your children normalize the emotions of grief. Too often, we are confronted with a culture that does not allow for/or support healthy grief expression and here, you will find a partner in your journey. I integrate tools of mindfulness, empowerment, art, music and play throughout therapy and most importantly, I listen actively and deeply to your needs. Whether you're dealing with a very new loss, reaching out for group support or looking to support children after a loss, I'm here to help. I commend you for seeking support. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with warmth, compassion and unconditional positive regard so you can begin to nurture yourself through your loss. I look forward to working with you!
First session
Clients can expect the first session to be an introduction, an opportunity to tell their story while in a safe and supported space. Going forward, we will develop goals for your treatment and decide if additional support or resources may help meet your goals. Clients often report improvements in mood and daily functioning after short-term therapy.
Strengths
The areas that are my biggest strengths include grief and loss, as I have spent my career working with individuals and families going through hospice and end-of-life care. Further, I am quite competent in working with traumatic loss, disenfranchised grief, and prenatal loss and offer loss-specific support groups as I find that peer support is essential to one's ability to grow around their grief.
Ideal clients
Grief and Loss, Trauma, children, anxiety, depression.
