I’m a licensed mental health counselor, based in New York. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years, working in different settings from transitional housing for individuals with severe mental challenges to our patience services. I believe my experience helps me in taking a holistic approach. My aim is to help my clients develop the necessary skills to effectively address life’s challenges and barriers.
In the first session, I like to focus on obtaining background information from the client as well as developing rapport. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, therefore, from there I like to focus on helping clients identify their own therapy goals and objectives
My clients often describe me as very supportive and nonjudgmental. If you work well with a clinician had a more “ tough love” approach, I may not be the best clinician for you
I work well with clients who can benefit from working with a clinician who is supportive and nonjudgmental.
I often work with clients in improving their ability to identify maladaptive patterns in their functioning to develop healthier patterns, therefore, improving their relationships with self and others. Expectations about how life should be may not fit our reality, or old patterns or ways of coping that may have previously been effective become problematic.
My goal is to provide my clients with a safe space to explore their worries, concerns and the barriers preventing them from reaching their full potential and creating a fulfilling and meaningful life. I strive to help my clients gain clarity and the skills to make positive changes, to develop the insight and skills to overcome life barriers and become the best version of themselves.
